I have set up my M Audio bundle with Pro Tools MP9 (windows 7) -- I am very pleased with the record quality for my needs, but I am having noise issues. It seems to vary somewhat with the computer functions, it is a low level sound very similar to a vacuum cleaner, only much quieter, if this makes any sense. Of course gets worse with more gain.. and ideas? Thanks

A few things to check out...

You might need to experiment with how the interface is placed relative to the computer or other items of equipment. Try powering everything from one power strip. Turn of un-needed appliances etc, in case of interference.

If the interface is USB -

1 If it is usb interface powered, try powering it from an external power supply is this is an option.
2 You may need to consider a usb galvanic isolator in case the usb connection is creating a ground loop.
