Look Mom, I can play!
I thought that you might be interested in this link. Computer Music magazine in the UK is trying to put together a full suite of software synths so that purchasers of the magazine will have a full set of tools to produce music with. As a result, they have a commissioned several synths including multitimbral drum synths as well as other useful stuff, all running as a VST so opens within Sonar with a wrapper. They even have a free sequencer for people starting out on the road to PC music creation.

As well as all the free stuff, they also have patches, samples, pdf manuals and tutorials.

Their DS404 drum synth is tremendous; you have to d/load drum kits to use with the synth. To cater for all users, there is a choice of small, medium and large drum kits, based on how much memory you have. I can personally recommend this drum synth. If you trigger them from session drummer or from your keyboard, they sound amazing. You might need to re-map your keyboard though with SD, otherwise the drums are in the wrong place !

If you can get the magazine there is even more free stuff including Crystal oscillator synth on the cover CD.

Enjoy
:D

I'm still a subscriber, even if I feel that I don't learn from it (the magazine) anymore. I subscribe because of the great software and news/updates. :D

Now I'm gonna test the Ohmygod VST effect. I hear great things about it. :)

Moskus, I only found the magazine last month and was blown away at the synth tutorials. And the free wav, kontakt and soundfont samples. Plus all the other goodies.;) Kept me amused all month:)

I just hope they're gonna get a move-on with the Sonar Masterclass... They're WAY BEHIND! ;)
