The 3630 is great!
If... you're looking for a "lo-fi" sound.

Seriously, I've gotten "interesting" results by using a Nanocompressor because
it messed up the fidelity of my normally clear/mellow voice and makes it sound
more "hard rock". Other than that it makes a great doorstop for me.

The RNC is a no-brainer since it's very transparent, plus has both "supernice",
and it's regular mode available.
You get a TWO year warranty BTW, if you get it from www.mercenary.com

P.S. JR, my private message box is now cleared for incoming messages,
sorry that it was full when you tried to get back to me.

I Agree... I just received my RNC's yesterday.

They are great. A little to transparent for my "untrained" ear ;)

I kept checking if they were not in Bypass. But when I Bypassed it I could hear it work. Really really transparent...

About ordering RNC's overseas.. I Live in Belgium and payed about 500 Eur for 2 units. (21% VAT Here)

It was a breeze to order. Called FMR Audio on Wednesday and got the RNC's next Monday.

Really happy with them. (As you can see in my previous post ;) )

Oh, when you order make sure you mention that you need Euro power supplies.

Really Happy RNC User

I have four of these and am delighted. I feel like dancing.
The Composer Pro ($89) and the DBX-166 ($150) are great choices in the budget arena as well.......

BUT, the RNC is really worth every penny $170.

500 Euros for 2 is a reasonable price.
I'm afraid it will be more than 250 for just one... Shipping won't be half when you order one, I'm sure...

But still, I expected a higher price. No doubt that local retailers would charge 300+ a piece. Thanks for the post.

The new Behringer composer pro MDX2200 has a hard bypass, is dual channel, but can be used as a stereo compressor, has side chain on both channels, expander, and limiter. Very nice.
