I have a DBX MC6 available for sale on this board for $45 shipped (https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=150490).
According to DBX, it has the guts of the 160, just in a smaller tabletop package. Not the most transparent thing in the world; it has the "DBX flavor", but that seems to be what you're looking for.

Check out http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/dbx/MC6-01.html for a bunch of reviews. The MC6 is very quiet, but can give you some great color with a higher ratio.
