I'm thinkin about getting a kick ass 88key midi controller. I was thinkin about the CME 88 and getting a Motif ES rack. Any advice?

I didn't love the action of the cme uf8 when I tried one out in a store. How well it would perform as a controller for a motif? No idea. I've heard nightmares about getting drivers to work and such, but that probably wouldn't come into play as much with a hardware synth.

I thought the action was similar to the Motif keybed? Now they have an updated version of the UF series which includes a new panel and wireless midi. Looks pretty cool to me.
Yamaha has some new controllers as well - the KX series. Looks pretty good too.

I'd be very careful with CME stuff. Tech support is non-existant, fan-boys run the CME forums and tech implementation is dodgy in more aspects than drivers.
I gave up on my UF80 when I couldn't stop it from repeatedly sending random midi controller events at random time intervals. Besides several mechanical flaws.
I'd shop for a Studiologic/Fatar for a pure controller.
