Catchy tune!

Overall, sounds pretty freaking good, I noticed, the solo sounds distanced from the rest of the mix, maybe less/different reverb, and the OD guitar toward the end seems to be overpowering.

Sounds good though!

Thank You,

Okay I'll give those another look.

Appreciate the listen.

Took another listen, bass sounds nice and punchy, but the mix seems to be lacking a lil bit in the low end, beef it up just a touch(?)

Are those acoustic drums?

Sounds good, I always come up with CRAZY explanations(in my head) of what bands sound like, so as to be able to compare to someone that is widely recognized.....and for your song it was, "Imagine Tom Petty's "country" brother went to a pop festival at a hippy commune and recorded a song."

Hope you take that as the compliment it is meant to be.....

Thanks,

I kept going back and forth on the bass with more or less. This mix has it cut a few db.

Its EZ Drummer basic, (cant do live drums in my apartment lol) but they are mixed/processed through Cubase 5.5, they dont sound to bad if you take some time with them.

Really glad you like the song, thanks for your help.

Pete

I love its soundclick title "She's gone rough", I know a few :)

very clear, and separated..i was getting a lot of HFs but Im in the middle of finishing one of my bass heavy numbers so it might be my adjustment thats needed

pleasant track...instrumentation is good...drums are obviously EZ but not irritating, snares the culprit...lead guitar came in very strong/loud...gave me a bit of a fright lol

nice fade out ending, the world needs more of them

pretty solid for a rough mix

It's pretty rough in the upper mids. The low end is clear and fine to me, it's just overboard in the upper end. The snare, vocals, and guitars are conspiring to give the tweeters a workout. The electric guitars come in too heavy handed towards the end. Dial em back a little. You'll still get the build up effect.

Thanks Keith I'll look at those things.

Thanks Greg, I agree its cluttered in the uppermids, I'm still mixing with too much highs from my analog days, gotta get that down a bit. Thanks for the listen, I'll tame the guitar volumes some more too.

Thanks Again.

Lots to like... lots of clarity... except I find the bass a bit detached and a general lack of gel at the bottom end.

I liked the song. I liked the little lead guitar riffs here and there. I really liked the bass part.

The first thing that struck me was the snare had no power. Need more low end.

Lot's of upper mid energy. It's overall a bit crispy.

There were a few pitch issues in the early stages of the song (e.g. the word "world" at :17).

I'd layer the vocals heavier in the chorus.

Thanks, yeah the snare bleeds into the overheads which I like being crispy, not sure how I could change that. I have added a few db at 800hz. for a fuller tone any other ideas?

Thanks for the listen.

I agree with most of what's been said. A good clear mix with nice separation. I did find the snare to be a little thin sounding and do not have specific ideas other than to try to beef it up with some lower mids or sumpin'.

The guitars, both lead and rhythm seemed a bit dry and up front compared to the other sounds, or maybe it is just a level thing, or maybe I am full of it. Either way, nice job so far :).

Hey PDP I really like the song a lot. It sounds good but will probably sound real good if you take the advice here already given, so, good luck dude.

The missing energy is well below 800hz. It sounds to me like cuts were made around 220hz and below. That's just a guess. I would restore some of those cuts (if I'm right).
