It is not chinese x-mas. It is chinese new year. danshi is a little mixed up.
That's what I thought too... but I wasn't sure. Humm... hey danshi, do you ever post messages on HomeRecording.com using a different user name? I wonder if your ISP address matches any other user names?

Hey RE, call you see our ISP addresses, and if so, does danshi's ISP address match any other users ISP address, and if so, who's? Thanks.

Uhh, pardon me ma'am, but I think your paranoia's showing. :)

danshi may be a little mixed up about Christmas because Jesus really ain't the shiznit in them parts over there. He probably figures it's a time for us that we take off work and get shitfaced a lot and call it Christmas. Maybe that's what their New Year is too. But I don't know.

I think you might be somewhat correct.

Hey danshi, have you ever posted any messages at HomeRecording.com using a different user name than danshi?

No . I only use one ID .

I say "Chinese Christmas" because these days for us are like your Christmas . Everyone go to holidays for about 2 weeks .

I think it's great when someone from China is able to make himself understandable in a language which is totally different from his own language.
I applaud you for that danshi!

Oh Great! I've been in this board for years and no one has ever commented on MY good english! ;) :D

I thought you guys are still fighting over whatever "cheap labor China policy" stuffs... good to see we are discussing some chinese related cultural stuffs for a change.... :)

As a chinese descendant myself, let me contritube to this thread as well....

Off topic, but really interesting. For example, 'garden' is jardin in French, garten in German and gaard in Dutch.

Most of the western languages are originated from Latin... hence the similiarities.... Chinese language has its own origin and initially pictographic....

Oh ok. Oh, and there are at least two different ways Christmas is celebrated in the USA. One is what crazydoc does... he just uses it as an excuse to get drunk, and anothers like myself celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during Christmas time. What do the Chinese celebrate?

Thanks man, I'm flattered. Actually I did all my education locally here. Malaysia was a British colony. Hence we have a strong English background and education curriculum.

We celebrate Christmas in Asia as well. Usually it's just a one day holiday. :)
For the Chinese New Year, we celebrate the first day of the Chinese celendar and the arrival of spring. It's a 15-day celebration. :)

I thought everything in the world was already being manufactured in China anyhow? Till the whole world is sucked down into a gurgling vortex of manufacturing and financial imbalance, I will enjoy my cheap Studio Projects B1 and keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Leeking. :)

Hey danshi, is the Chinese Christmas New Year over yet, and if so... how are the pictures coming along?

He was just giving us some information. Must you always come back with your smart-ass comments? Do you really think YOU were funny?
Everyone else seems to have given their viewpoint in a mature manner. You on the other hand shoot from the hip with a sharp tongue.

Grow up Man!!!

My comment wasn't meant to be funny.

I think everybody here knows how I feel about Chinese products and the ways in which they are produced, and why I think it's wrong to buy products made in China.

I've been playing guitar for nearly 35 years. My instruments are a couple Martins. My main instrument is a 77 D-35L. The other is an 85 D-45L Custom.

I'll be damned if I'm gonna waste my time using gear that costs $20 to produce to record something I've invested so much time and energy into learning to use.

But if you're inclined to use $20 worth of bootlegged, backwards-engineered-from-stolen-designs crap made in a factory whose proceeds support one of the most repressive governments on the planet to record your music, have at it.

It's Sunday here in the USA now, but it should be Monday in China today... no?

C7,

The biggest problem with your statement is (and I am no fan of reverse engineering) is that the old east block communist country call East Germany legally owned the copyrights under their laws and indeed did sell these old German mic designs to these Chinses manufacturers years ago. Now, I am sure (being the idustrious folks the Chinese are) they have certainly reversed engineered many mics.

So - a broad statement as you state is correct in some cases but not in all cases. Some of these designs were legally obtained and have been used legally. Certainly a lot were not.

I do agree that we must look within ourselves to determine on an individual level if we will buy chinese products to support their regime. Our government and most individuals in the U.S.A don't care or never want to consider that the goods they purchase may indeed support a brutal and unfair government.

I still feel the best Chinese export is Sweet and Sour Pork.
:D

Hope your day goes well.
