Hello -

I have posted a variety of things - from Lo-fi 4-track demos, to an "over"produced tri-pped tune. Will you all check out
http://www.mp3.com/ImLoyal and let me know what you think especially - "Our Son" and "Here I Go"

Thanks,
lD

note: watch out "888" is an old 4-track demo and is mixed a little loud - And it does have some distortion from the original lo-fi recording - but hey the tune has my soul.

lordy, lordy those two songs were complete opposites in feel....from trip hop to depresso....I liked them both, but the bass sound in the depresso song could take a valium, volume-wise......both effective and interesting mixes, but for the loud bass in the aforementioned one.....gibs

The typwriter in Randall is excellent! I like 'Here I Go' too, but the reverb is pretty heavy.

Great job on "Here I Go":
You captured that Keith Richards crying into a load of dope in some basement somewhere perfectly. I thought the "I'm too sad and stoned to even play this" flubs were maybe overdone. But I won't complain about that wave of bass. That would be like complaining about the dirt they throw on top of coffins at a funeral.

grazie

Thanks for the feedback - I went a little overboard on the reverb/delay on the vocals in Here I GO because i am a bit shy with my voice. Our Son was made primarily using a cruddy 80's yamaha pcm portasound - I faded between the orignal and my "fatter" version to show what the orignal source is.

Is Randal and Our son the same guy? just kidding!

I couldn't sit down and listen to this, but I guess thats why its called experimental! It probably is a good way of experimenting with different recording techniques though. Buuut, dont take my word for it, I mean I STILL like grunge, huh, go figure.

true..

Yes - I will say that Our Son could cause a brain ache - but.. if you check it through a few times and crank it up it may grow on you and you may hear the "orchestration".

Stuff like Our Son, does not come from my heart (not really my love) I make it to satisfy the curious tinkerer in me and to see if i can make a pile of crap (the yamnaha pcm beats) sound "Phat" - - -

Anyways.. I'm more in to country/poppy/trippy tunes, like Here I Go - but as i've heard, Here I go is a little over dramatic.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm into that Our Son track... very cool stuff there. You listen to much Beastie Boys instrumental stuff? Reminds me of the feeling of their song Drinkin Wine just a little bit. I also liked Here I Go, as I think you got a great vibe going in that one as well. I think the reverb fits well into what you seemed to be going for in that one. Good job of hitting certain moods in both songs with not only the songs themselves but the mixes as well.

Listened to all your tracks and while i like them all "Here I go" is still running thru my head. Like Jon X said I like where you were going with the effects. There were a couple timing issues going on in it but hell it kinda grew on me and gave it a little diffrent vibe or something. I enjoyed your tracks, good work.

thanks for checking it out

I appreciate you all checking them out and giving me the comments -
