I love to laugh. I find satyrical, slapstick, unorthodox and most other types of humor amusing. What would you have me do? Fade away into nothing, like most other musician's posting their Mp3's here or anywhere else; when someone says they won't even listen to me because I am on drugs ? ... Or would you have me reply in a Goerge Carlin type of way and create a little entertainment for those that are interested?

I have listened to some of the musician's on this site. I have found many recordings with excellent sound quality, yet very few with any originality or character of their own. So what if you have done the same standards that many others have done for a lot of years? And so what if you change a couple of melody patterns that are still recognizable, and call it your own? A monkey will repeat any procedure you wish if you train it long enough.

I respect jazz, classical, and other types of musicians quite a bit. I cannot play any classical piece off of the top of my head so I can't talk about the technical aspects of that sort of thing. But I will say that although you may be technically advanced, you still may not be interesting or inovative at all. It seems as if some musicians are afraid to say it, but I will. Music is a lot like gymnastics or martial arts; if you practice the same thing over and over again, you will get good at it eventually. So what? You didn't create the emotion or the effect on the listener, and you won't get any credit after you are dead, (some obscure and incredible originals can still be found to redo and bring to light, but they are few and far between in this age of communication). So why get so self-righteous over someone else's hard work?.

Which leads me to the other musicians on this site that post great material. Good for them. That's not you, you spineless, ignorant, morons, (you know who you are). Don't try to create some type of legitamacy for yourself off of anothers genius. Once again- that's not you; get some self respect and stick to touting your own accomplishments, if you can speak of any that is ...

Oh yeah ...

Fuck the "A" game. Try the "G" game ...

I have posted two new older songs of mine for your consideration.

And what do you mean? Almost?

This site is mine now. (Is that self-centered enough for you?)

(How about this?)

A legend never dies ...

It just takes another form ...

The man.

The truth.

Jesse Michael Garcia.

and the reason why you continue to churn out your own squirty pooh and not leave posts or help anyone else is.........?

i agree, his sound isnt TERRIBLE... but we're talking about opinions here, and that was mine. i may have gotten a little heated and caustic in my reply simply because i think this board really lacks some integrity... and i admit i may have been hypocritical in slamming it and im sorry for that. but blue bear, being a professional, i think you should have some professional dignity. dont post here if youre just going to slam this guy. i dont think it speaks highly of you or gives your studio a good name. i would like to post some stuff that we've done but i dont have any. it wasnt my band i just sat in and helped out. i moved out of state so i cant really go pick a copy up. but if i have a chance i will. i did, however, post a song on pure volume that i recorded myself on my computer with PT free. its only vocals and acoustic guitar, so you cant really get a good feel for mixing that we've done. the link is http://purevolume.com/benjaminjames it has not been approved yet by the website, but as soon as it is i will start a thread and you can all rip on my songwriting if you like. i look forward to hearing what you have to say.

hey jesse

hey jesse... you side stepped my post. why did you tell me to fuck off after i told you i somewhat enjoyed your music? im just curious man.

One more thing ...

About the attitude ... If in real life if you were to talk negatively about my family or disrespect and/or misrepresent my artistic integrity, then most likely you would receive a punch to the throat. Here you just get a pleasn't "fuck off". I actually do care what is said about me and my music, even the bad things. I really mean no ill will towards anyone. What's wrong with a friendly curse loaded debate? A good "fuck you" is really healthy once in a while anyway ...

In an instance of serious contemplation ...

I would kill or die willingly for my family and friends. I take respect and honor very seriously. I cannot say how much the positive or well-intentioned comments mean to me.

Insanity ensues ...

My words were meant for brummygit. Sorry about that borntoplease. How could I disrespect one of the only people that hasn't tripped on me. My error ... I apologize.

good times

im glad i saw youre new post... i was about 10 seconds away from punching YOU in the throat... :) all in good fun. apology accepted.

oh, so you ARE listening then? and why the hell you give me threats - i told you that your music was shit, not that your mom was a slut or anything.

either way, what i told your, diremaster, was that you seem to be doing alot to self-appreciate, but you dont say or comment on anyone elses music on their threads. that, my lad, makes you a cocksucker.

I once again apologize for the misunderstaing. The references about my family are to a comment about my mom that was made earlier on. I hope you reconsider your viewpoint of me; I really am sorry.

Money and success mean nothing to me. I just want to achieve immortality, that's all. Is that too much to ask? I will accomplish this by any means necessary ...

The legend continues ...

one more thing... when i do post my music... i hope i can use youre name jesse to endorse it. it seems to carry a certain clout when it comes to getting replys and critiques. isnt life fun. good times.

For you anything!

It's okay to post your music here on this thread if you want because you are cool. All you other worthless cowards can start your own threads, and then we will see who is wasting their precious time ... Results don't lie.

i'll start my own thread... but thanks for offering. ill but something like "jesse garcia loves benjamin james" for my topic... ha ha ha... wont everyone just love that. oh, and brummygit... i rather like the name mr. anus... has a nice ring to it... no pun intended. ;)

Is it just me or does this guy remind anybody of the Marky Mark character in "Boogie Nights." You know, the porno guy trying to break into the music biz. "Well he will rock you, and he will roll you"

so by my standards, and those of the people i respect and aspire to be like one day... you arent that great.
No problem, friend... my clients, and the many other people I do business with every single day will beg to differ - and to me, their opinion matters far more than some wannabe with "big industry contacts" (as if) at the other end of a web-forum........

Nevertheless, I've had plenty of industry insiders comment on my work too -- funny how they don't share your opinion.......

His sound IS terrible and that's not an opinion, it's fact.

His (and I hate to call it this) STYLE of music leaves alot to be desired as well. Whether he thinks so or not, there are conventions that must be followed. Breaking the rules is one thing. Completely ingoring the rules is another.

BlueBear... its only my opinion... im sure youre clients are happy. there is a reason you have business. im into a different style of recording, and the sound i am going for is different than what you do. i think i have had the privledge of being around professional studios (multi-million dollar setups) and i have been spoiled. i was lucky enough to meet some big people young and become friends with people who have worked with bands like U2 and Soundgarden and many others. my standards of what sounds good are completely different than a lot of people. everyone has a different agenda, and yours is different from mine. i apologize for jumping on your case, it was just frustrating hearing you rant on an up-and-comer... even if his music is and recording isnt at your level.

and hangdawg... i wasnt saying that i dont think jesse's music isnt terrible... i was saying blue bears sound isnt terrible. but i dont think jesse's sound is terrible. its different. it may have some recording and playing issues and pitch issues... but so does everyone at some point. i take music for what it is, and what it was meant to be. thats all.

Quite obviously your ears are different..... you call them standards as if somehow they are superior - I disagree......I don't happen to think U2 or Soundgarden mixes are particularly good examples of good-sounding audio... personally, I'm more partial to the Steely Dan, XTC, and Diana Krall sound in terms of mix/sonic quality, far superior to U2's productions in my opinion.

I don't expect that you'll suck. Probably it will be pretty good with some room for improvement, and you'll get some good suggestions. It's really the attitude of the OP that causes issues.

I would like to know your opinions of the new older material that I posted ... If you please ...

I am not going to address anyone personally anymore because some of you can't take a joke ... So here you go ...

Who cares what project's that you have worked on before, ("labor" assistant and gopher roles don't count). What about the here and now?

Some of you need to get with the times and realize that sonically we are in a different age. There are frequencies that exist now that Steely Dan could only dream of. I myself think of Steely Dan recordings in my own mind as one the ultimate recording standards available- for the time period. Pink Floyd, The Eagles, and even Al DiMeola are some others that fit this internal "standard" of mine. But that was a different time with different taste's. Sorry to break it to you, but some people nowadays would call those recordings flat, basic, and uninteresting. Now here's something for you older guys to consider. Screw the actual playing; I know you ancient purist's don't usually acknowledge anything but music from your own typically high-school era "glory years"; but todays recordings are far superior for the most part in that the scope of the dynamics and depth from all instruments has broadened dramatically. Now here's the kicker- some of you older guys talk shit about toady's music, but I say that is you that are under-developed and ignorant in your sonic evolution and realizations. What scientist stick's his head in the sand when his adversaries are making advancements with the same information? I don't care how long you have been "in the business", you should at least be able to acknowledge that there is only one rule for music; there are no rules.

The legend grows ...

WTF is that ? Have new frequencies been invented in the past 10 years that I haven't heard of ?

I would call those people "Mentally Challenged"

They are ANYTHING but flat and basic ! Holy dumb shit !

Bull fucking shit !

Today's music is so squashed there are no dynamics left at all...

Do you know what the words Frequency and Dynamics mean ?

Based on your statements I would say no...
