dudes... ive never seen such dickness anywhere in my life. music is music. if its great to 1 person, then its great. if you dont like it, quit posting. the fact of the matter is it doesnt really sound any worse than the shit on the radio right now. let me bring to your attention a little know band called captain beef heart... it makes this stuff look like mozart... and historians now are calling that great LSD rock... its legendary stuff. if you cant wrap your mind around his music, then dont try. but to lower yourself to the level of slamming someones music only because you dont understand it, or you think it has timing issues, pretty much makes you a prick. if youre okay with that, then fine. but just know. you are a prick if you slam music just because you think it sucks, or because you think it could have been better. personaly, i think its kinda fun. it keeps me guessing. it doesnt sound like anything. sure it could use some vocal work (pitch and what not)... but so could about 99% of the posts in this forum, almost no one can sing. im listening to "these so called limits" on pure volume and its so strange i like it. but whatever. im not here to rant. i just think as musicians we should be able to rise above our personal tastes and take music for what it is and what it is meant to be, and not what we want it to be or think it should be. thats just my mechanical royalty. eh... 2 cents....

What a load of complete and total bullshit...............

...if someone posts on a forum asking for OPINIONS, then that's what they should expect. If the forum happens to be browsed by some professionals, then they will get PROFESSIONAL OPINIONS.

I said it before but it bears repeating - if you want a pat-on-the-back, then stick to showing your music to your grandma or your girlfriend... otherwise you'll get a variety of opinions from the variety of people that browse here, and you'd better be able to take it.
 
To me, there are a couple of kind of musicians/artist. There is one kind that beliefs that everything that is different, and made from the heart, is good.

That would be great, wouldn't it? Unfortunately for you, that's not what I belief. I belief there are surtain actual musical aspects that all good music has, and your songs, I regret to say, have none. They are origional, that's for sure, but good, or nice, nope.

And did you ever notice, it's always the people with the really god awful sounding poorly written/performed music who are the first one's to throw out the "It's original" "You just don't understand it" and all the other bullshit lines. I like lots of different music but it has to be performed well and sound half decent. This crap is just crap.

I never used any "excuse" by saying that my music is "original, ... and you just don't understand it". I really detest your implying that I have a pompous or arrogant attitude. To you I say; Fuck Off! I am unique and I am a creator. Can you deny that?. I can, and have taken a lot of comments and abuse that has had nothing to do with my music. I asked for it, no doubt. Hell, I initiated it! I appreciate everyone's opinion ... Yet, for you to imply that I am "copping-out" by claiming to be original and beyound your comprehension; and that I am just egotistically defending my opinion or my music, is both presumptuous, and ignorant. I have offered my view, but I have been very careful to not "defend" my opinion in any way. From my point of view, it is not the role of the artist to define anything; let the listener decide what they think. I obviously hit a sore spot pointing out in a general way that if you are boring, you are boring; period. Who cares how good you think your style or method is? Poor poor fools ... You spend all this money, time, and effort on your projects to make them be just like something or some standard you religiously and exclusively adhere to, and nothing happens. Uninteresting human = uninteresting music. Like I said before; the truth hurt's doesn't it?

The insults were started by JesseGarcia when at the very beginning of this thread he got some polite comments about some of the problems with his recording and replied saying thanks for the input but then called everybody that commented "fools" and so on.
There were no personal insults until he started them.

As for not being able to understand his music ....... give me a break.
yes, there are beginners here who can't quite deal with oddball time signatures or polytonalities and such ........ but there are plenty of long timers who deal with FAR more complex and oddball stuff than any of this stuff. Check out SLuiCe's music. It's way more complex and difficult to follow than Jesse's but he manages to be in tune and on time even as his time signatures change from measure to measure.

Also ........ constantly referring to yourself as a "legend" and saying how your music is far beyond anything that we poor mortals can do is arrogant no matter how you want to spin it.

Lastly ....... those of you saying we should quit posting (one of them a friend of mine). Unlike the majority of people here ........ I'm a musician first and a recordist second. I've played pro for 42 years and I play 4 or 5 nights a week.
I come here as a diversion mainly. yes ..... I learn a few things (especially from the really knowledgeble guys like Blue Bear), but I already know a bunch about it so I primarily come here for something interesting to do.
I'll post in any thread that I want to post in ......... that's my reason for coming here in the first place ......... I reject the idea that because someone else finds this to be a thread they want to end means that I shouldn't post in it anymore. If you don't like the thread then quit watching it.

I kind of agree with you. I knew his music was going to be like this when I read the first few posts. But, I had to listen because I enjoy a good laugh once in a while. So Jesse, just keep on posting your garbage. I'll listen. If only to see if it could possibly be worse than the last.

well Blue Bear, if we are allowed to spit out opinions... i think some of your mixes, the ones i listened to on your sight, arent good at all. i was actually pretty surprised, considering how much shit you give to others and advice you dole out. but i didnt want to jump to conclusions. so i gave your link to some of my friends who have been in the industry for a long time. (these arent pee ons either... they've worked on projects im sure you could never get) they agreed with me. they said you achieved a cold, generic sound and showed little creativity or mastery of equipment. there is too much space in your mixes and the drums on most of the tracks sound about 2mm thin. the bass sound is the same in every song. really it just sounds like something me and my friends do with a cheap computer and copy of pro tools free. i think if more people went to your sight and listened to your clips they might see you are a little less qualified than you think... but hey. the songs were good, for the most part, and its a shame they werent complimented more by the recording and mixing. those are my opinions. and you said it man... im allowed to have them. so by my standards, and those of the people i respect and aspire to be like one day... you arent that great.

so, mr anus, what does any of BlueBears music have to do with this thread? this is jesse's forum. get out the limelight dickcheese, you cant argue with bluebear (10,000 threads or not) for not liking this sewerage on offer here. even a shit mix, as produced by amateurs like me, sound better than this. in fact, even a dire mix can have a gem of a tune shining through. but, pal, this jesse stuff just dont do that. never listened to bluebear stuff, but if i wanted to criticise or praise him, id go to one of his threads.

man, you need to get a life too. i never said you were trying to make something that wasnt understandable. my mom doesnt understand my music... that doesnt mean those who make it are pretentious pricks. it means some people just dont get it. why, when one person actaully says they can enjoy your music for what it is would you say fuck off. until that moment, i almost respected you for not giving a shit what people thought about your music. now i may have to agree with some people posting that you are just doing this for attention. maybe you dont want to "make it" in the music biz... but if you do, when someone says the can enjoy your music and sticks up for you when everyone else says its shit, you really shouldnt tell them to fuck off. im dissapointed. i thought someone who considered themself creative and original would have a little more brain power than that. i dont know, youre one strange person. and while i still think your music is different and has its own place, i think you as a person suck balls.

You know, I had never listened to Bear's stuff before now either. So I just did. What kind of crack are you smoking?

I've never posted anything here (I will soon though), but I can tell you right now it isn't going to be anything as good as Bear. My gear isn't too far

Did you say that first? Did you bias your sample with leading comments? These are comments on style. Bear's style is a little in-your-face for my tastes. But it still sounds good. There's certainly no problem with basics. What's more there is a substantial amount of musical talent on those clips.
