Man, since you keep doing this, I have to ask (again). Are you happy with the way these sound? I am NOT asking for your musical resume, I am not asking for you to respond "emotionally" on any level. X's and O's...what do you like/dislike about THE RECORDING ... ( I really don't think anybody's commenting positively or negatively about your songs or your 'style,' ) -- this is a mixing clinic...opinions are freely given. If somebody tells you there are timing problems, you can do one of 2 things...you can thank them for pointing it out and take it as an opinion to think about, or you can be a jackass about it and argue with them. Now, if 2 people tell you there are timing problems, perhaps you should stop arguing and start listening. If you don't hear the timing problems, then I guess it sounds okay to you, but don't get pissed at people for giving you exactly what you asked for...which is technical feedback: So here's my technical feedback:jessegarcia said:(like so many of you emotionally biased critic's).
1. Drums sound decent, but there ARE timing problems;
2. Guitar sounds like absolute muffled dogshit TO ME - If it's the tone you're going for, then more power to you.
3. The vocal is pitchy, and pretty much unintelligible...on top of that, the way you've mixed it isn't helping matters at all. It's blurry and yet, still too on top of the mix at the same time.
In short, this sounds like a home recording. I've heard a lot of home recordings around here that DO NOT sound like home recordings, which is a testament to the talent (both musical AND technical) that some people around here possess. You can write them off as "never has beens," or you can open YOUR ears and your mind a bit and possibly learn something. I've noticed you have 7 posts, and 5 of them are in this thread. Maybe listen some before you start firing off insults. Don't get me wrong...there's nothing wrong with insults, but they should be based on SOMETHING...you know, like the people who insulted you AFTER listening to this.
Oh, and if you think you're all that "out there" and we just don't get it...take a listen to some of Dr.Stawl's stuff...now THAT'S different, lol.
