Metal Instrumental Song- Mix Opinions?

This is song i did. I used an Ibanez RG350 to record through a Saffire Pro 10 Soundcard. For the guitar effects i used Amplitude X Gear Vst and other various midi vst. For the drums i used Groove Agent One and the Beat Designer midi pug in. I recorded and mixed in Cubase 5.

I didnt spend alot of time on mixing it.

Heres the link on you tube let me know what you think. Thanks

Okey, here's the same advice I did to another guy. Do not post in YouTube, they ruin your audio and it becomes a freaking turd. Try using SoundClick, mySpace or a nother service to upload your tunes.

Well, on the mix!

01. Drums
I've used programmed drums with great results. I learned from a guy name jason Welch. He has really good advices and you should read his article:

BFD software is a great software and have nicersamples that the ones you chose for your song.

02. Guitar
Amp simulators are gret for practice but for recording they suck. It's better to record a real amp, it doesn't have to be a huge stack with a Mesa Boogie head. A lot of guys in here had great result micking a Roland Cube and you can buy one for less that 80 bucks on eBay. C'mon, there's nothing like a great distorted tone coming from a real amp.

Now that I hear your song again you have your guitar panned hard center. That's weird. Thinks about alive performance. In a regular situation, you hear guitars to your left and right. Vocalist it's on the center of the stage. Same goes to drummer. So, it's better to have your rhythm guitars panned hard right and hard left. Lead guitar it's on the right place but it collapses with the rhythm guitar track.

Almost forgot, be careful with the string noises.

03. Bass
There's no bass. That's the reason your music don't "rumble". That low tunes enrich your sound and thick your performance. You can even use a MIDI bass but remember to quantize and add dynamics to the programming. Otherwise, you'll end sounding like Michael Angelo Batio on his early records.

04. Keyboard
They fit the music. In some parts are kinda loud, try not to over use that resource.

Hope it helps. Remix, retrack and repost.
