ME AND A FRIEND WERE JUST MESSIN AROUND FIRST TIME REALLY TO USE MY STUDIO FOR MUSIC RECORDING LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OR WHAT i CAN DO tO GET BETTER HERES THE FIRST THEN ONE WITH 3 TO 1 COMPRESSION

Well, it is a well written tune and nicely performed. The recording leaves a lot to be desired, however. On the first track, the guitar is too bright and lacks any of the "woodiness" of the acoustic. Mic choice and placement are keys to getting a more natural tone. You have to experiment a lot to find the right spot for the mic. For starters, I would place it about 1 foot from the guitar pointed at the neck/body joint. Then mess around to find the best spot.

The tone of the guitar on the second link is better, perhaps because the compressor is killing some of the harshness.

The vocal has some plosives that could be decreased with a pop filter.

I agree with scrubs.

The 1st track: Guitar is too bright. Too compressed for my tastes too.. its a simple, light piece... the compression should not take away from the good tone of the guitar.

2nd track: Guitar sounds muffled, but some of the tone of it comes through a little better. Compression is still excessive.

In short, you are compressing these tracks too much. your guitar seems to have decent tone to it, but when you squish it too much, the compression atrifacts make it sound unnatural and kill its tone. the vocals on the first track are done pretty well... i would like to hear what a good tube pre or a tube-based mic would do to thicken up your voice. Good effort.
