Lets try this

I’ve got a man alone standing near a red car. He is too close just to be passing, but his body language suggests the car isn’t his.

Anyone see my man by the car, and raise him to spy? Stalker? Traffic cop? Something else????

Chip in please maybe he'll talk to us all and find some friends and a 'reason for being' along the way

Over to you . . .

The man and the car don't seem a natural "fit".

However, it reminds him very much of a car he once knew well, and takes him to a time when things were different...

Heh, this is fun. I'm having to hold myself back from becoming specific. It's like that old game when each person tells one line in a story :)

Back before the 'crash' he could buy any car he wanted..........

Just standin' here trying to impress you
baby I don't know if you'll see
I'm standin' next to this red corvette
and I'm hopin' you'll notice me

Maybe if you notice me
and come over to talk
you'd see things can't replace a good heart
and I'd love to give mine to you

There ya go.

Back in '49 when dad worked the mines
my mother told me son, no need to cry
Daddys working night and day
'cause once again we havent paid
The bills they keep on piling up
but someday daddys gonna get you a truck

Christmas '54 I grew a man and told my pops that I could drive
He wasnt feeling well and looked me right into the eyes
Sonny, mining has taken its toll and daddy will be going home
I said someday you'll get a truck, I guess you must be in bad luck
Take these keys and take good care, I bought you a shiny red Corvair
Its fast and loud and wild and fun, a gift for you my only son.

Today Im standing here beside a car,
and miss old pops smoking his cigars.
A shiny red and fast Corvair,
takes me back to '54 as if I was still there.
And looking back at that old memory,
daddy's gift was the best gift under the tree.
----------------------------------------------------

That was fun, ignore the fact that in '54 Corvairs werent made yet ;)
