Hi guys,
I need to change my machine heads for the first time in my ibanez guitar:)
I wanted to put on planet waves pwat331l but my machine heads are a little different...
a place where i put screws is in other place... is it ok to drill another holes or i just need to find other machine heads??
thank you for responses and have a good day!! :)

you may not even need to drill. when i changed the tuners on my acoustic, i just screwed the new pointed screws directly into the wood. that saves the risk that you drill too big a hole and end up, well...screwed. :p

I would be careful screwing straight in, as you can splinter off a piece of the headstock if you're not careful or if the screw is too close to the edge. Take a drill bit that is about the same diameter as the shaft of the screw (the part without the threads, so it is slightly smaller than the screw) and put a piece of masking tape around the bit to mark the right depth to drill. No sweat. But yeah, it is no problem drilling, you're not going to hurt anything (unless you go all the way through).

Yes, you can put new screw holes in. Make absolutely certain that you pre-drill the holes, and if you are going into a maple neck (which, on an Ibanez, you are), wax the screws with a bit of bee's wax to lubricate it as you drive it. It takes a 1/16" bit. Also, mark your bit with some tape so you don't drill too deep. It sucks to drill through a headstock.
