trying to get cep 2.0 to be used with my tascam 428. Do i need a patch or is capability built in already to 2.0? what happens if i try using both the usb and soundcard, or can only one be used at a time?

Version 2.0 would only work with the Syntrillium Red Rover. V2.1 added capability for the US428, Mackie Universal Control etc.
You should be able to use the US428 to route the signal, although the transport functions won't work. Just select both the soundcard and the US428 in the Options/Device Order and then select which port you want to use for each track when you set up the session.

I know someone that uses a 428 with V2, although it only controls the faders for the tracks.
