Hi,

what's the best software for burning CD's, EP's, albums and so forth please?

all my burn softwares give me decent cd's but 'unknown track' and 'unknown album' whenever i place the cd in the disc tray. One software even numbered my 1-2-3 track listing 2-1-3. Not very impressive!

want something which will show me the name of each track being played and even the name of the CD if i give it a project name.

ability to add thumbnails to individual tracks and even some artwork for the CD generally would be a great thing :)

is there a software which can do this please?

have tried Windows Burner, Roxio, Nero, itunes and probably a couple of others as well. they can all burn CD's but are all pretty basic on the info side. Roxio asks you to submit art work and quite detailed track information then promptly ignores everything and just burns the tracks as 'unknown', back to square 1

there must be a dedicated music software for producing music CD's out there somewhere, but i have yet to find it :-|

help appreciated!

thanks :)

Ric

I've always used Nero for CD / DVD burning. But the software with the best database of released CDs is iTunes IMHO. I HATE iTunes as a player / organizer, but I used it to rip my CD collection (several hundred) in part because it identified the CDs much better than anything else.

Thanks RWhite,

just this moment burnt a 3 track compilation on Nero after filling all the information boxes in - and when i popped the disc into Windows Media Player i got:

unknown album
unknown artist
unknown genre

the track names which were all there in the nero compilation window have been reduced to 1,2 & 3.

to be fair there was no genre box to fill in for nero, but the cd and artist name was filled in, in detail.

this is hopeless - am going round in circles

help!
