Every tape deck in my house is malfunctioning now and they all seem to come down with similar problems, problems that cost as much to fix or more than I paid for the thing itself. They only last about a year or two, I take care of em, clean the heads every now and then, but they still seem to break down in some way. My engineer has a closet full of them, all out of working order, it's just cheaper to buy a new one. SHould I just pay more for one? Any one know of a good sturdy, long-lasting one? Or should I learn how to fix them myself?
