Anybody have any experience with the Carvin MTS3200 head, or Carvin amps in general? I'm beginning to shop for a new amp after several years of playing only acoustic, and I'm looking for a higher gain amp and cabinet to use A/B with my Showman in a clean/dirty setup. They sure are priced right, but since they sell direct it's pretty hard to test drive one.

I have a Carvin MTS3212 Combo.

It's a decent amp...not as tight sounding as a Marshall, but has plenty of gain. The clean channel sounds great!

The biggest drawback i find with the amp, is the lack of a master volume control...which means you have to adjust 2 knobs if you want to change your drive and clean volumes.

I retubed mine with 6L6 power tubes, and JJ preamp tubes a few years ago...so I can't totally remember how it used to sound...

It was always pretty decent though...
