I have used Vegas for audio mixing for some time now. However, I have never ventured into the Video world. I would like to extend my studio to do wedding videos and small narrated video. How do you capture the video? I capture audio with a sound card. Video would be a fun new venture. Any information you can provide would be welcome.

What are you going to record the video on? If it's a digital camera, it's as easy as connecting via usb or firewire and going into Vegas. I have Vegas 5.0, and I've used it some, but not a hell of a lot because my old pc didn't have the RAM required to use it effectively.
If you are using a standard camcorder (8mm or compact VHS), you may have to buy an audio/video capture device.

All you need to capture video in Vegas from your digital camcorder is a very simple firewire card. If you don't have firewire built in, you can buy a card for about $30. Don't be suckered into buying some fancy b.s. card. Vegas doesn't need it. It has a great dv codec and capturing is a cinch as long as you have CPU power and a fast hard drive.
