Capstan problem Tascam 38

Sorry to bother you with another question regarding my project Tascam 38. I decided to start a new tread as a whole new problem have occured.

Yesterday I made it run after a lot of messing around - including changing the capstan motor. It worked for two or three hours and then started dropping in tempo. I gave it a brake but the problem was still there. Supposed that the belt had went off and I was right. Put the belt back on but still the same reaction as when I had the dead motor in it; a clonck and nothing happens.

This is really strange. I noticed a few thing: after the problem started it's pretty hard to run the capstan roller by hand even with the belt off.
Another thing that seemed a bit strange to me is that the control board for the motor gets really warm. Is this normal? Or have the motor melted down because of this?
Does it just need lubrication?
 
Not sure what to suggest here.
How easy is it to turn the capstan pulley actually attached to the motor? How hard is it to turn the capstan on the parts machine (which I presume is not attached to anything now)?
 
It's pretty hard to move the pulley on the new motor (the one from the parts machine) itself by hand - on the old one it's really easy And I'm pretty sure that I would have noticed if this had been the case from the beginning.. It's just a bit strange that the entire machine worked fine for two hours - I might have done something wrong, just don't know what.
Does the motor just need lubrication?
 
I've never had a motor problem like that, unfortunately. If I had no other option I'd look at disassembling it, checking it and cleaning it, but that's not something I've had to do before. This needs someone else's expertise, I think.

I took both motors to the repair shop today and it seems something had caused the new motor to overheat. Small pieces of solder fell out of it when the guy in the store opened it. So he'll try to make the two dead motors onto a functional one and I'll know tomorrow if he succeeded.

Hopefully he did as there's no way I can afford a fully functional 8-track for the next months.
