cant hear left or right

can any one tell me any tips for speaker or studio setup so i can hear the right from left panning better, it seems in the mix i can never hear full left or full right instuments coming from their prospective sides.

how do you have them set up now?
generally you'd want them 30 degrees off center (where you're head is at) and angled towards you

i read somewhere that you want the 2 speakers and your head to form an equlateral triangle. It works well for me. I have the speakers point straight out, the panning sounds amazing it sounds like i have have 53284 speakers in front of me all at different locations

Besides the good advice to set up your speakers so they form an equal triangle with your head, look into creating a reflection free zone (RFZ).
