I would avoid a Apple monitor for the time being. There seems to be a problem with the power inverters and most will not last for more then two years (this includes the models from about 3yrs ago to present) Mine lasted about 20 months and repaires will cost $509........a new one costs $599.

Yes you can use any monitors with any computer, all you need is a $5 adapter from ebay, but be careful, some adapters have resolution restrictions, get the one that goes all the way to higer resolutions.

Anyway, these flat pannel monitors are of MUCH higher quality, much better resolution and color, AND... (drum roll)... they are CHEAPER!!!!
