The audio card input/outputs...I'm sick of remembering or looking up in my little black book what input goes to what...I would like to rename the audio card input output ports to something like pp3-p1 (patch panel/port) instead of "M-Audio Delta1010 1/2 left" or "M-Audio Delta1010 5/6 stereo".

I guess I could have gotten out of the box and renamed and labeled my patch panels but PP3-P1 is so much shorter.

Thanks

I think you can, by editing your registry. That's where Windows stores them.

I know for certain I've edited my midi output names before that way.

It depends on how the driver for your audio hardware was written. Some drivers store their port names in the registry, and you can change those. Others hard code them in the drivers or store them who knows where. The hard coded ones mean you are currently out of luck -- but I would expect Sonar to support it in the future.
