Movie scores -- take a clip from a movie...any genre...and put the musical feel to it...a horror movie for example -- we all know the dumb blond is going to walk down the hallway to the closet with the boogie man in it...listening to your music you have the talent to put that trip into music....find the path to where the movie scores land..... tip sheets????......

Ahh yes. Well, as Adrian Belew said:

I do think its good...

very weird stuff
ever try T-racks mastering s/w?
it can make your mix turn into a 3 dimensional one
with bass frequency go deeper down
and hi frequency jump out at the audience
like i got from my brothersun remix
cheers

Detailed music as usual. Lots of stuff going on, takes a bit of repeat listening to absorb it all.

At 1:02 I recognize a pattern from another one of your tunes, not sure which one though.

Thanks for listening Coda-Co & Kaputo.
With this insulting chink in my standard of living (insulting only 'cause I'm still paying full pop) I need a MIDI outlet.
That's part of why I write this stuff.
istyle: no real mastering going on here. Just getting it as close as I can the first time thru.
Emeric: I wouldn't doubt that you heard a similar lick to another of my tunes. I put together a playlist of all my July stuff and it sounds like clippets of ideas for movements of the same symphony.
BTW: The other half of this tune has been posted at the same URL. Two days later and still no hot water. After a 7 hour repair session on saturday where I had to pass on 2 recording gigs to watch these inept clowns operate, the symptoms are worse than before. Now the shortfall has spread to the bathroom and to the cold water! :(

LOL - gee, I like your stuff. That comic voice you put in the beginning sounds just like a person, in this case, making loads of excuses (or is it complaints?). The next section was a complete surprise because it didn't return to the first part, and the ending was a delight. Just a coupla notes. Man, you're there.

Just listened to the second part of the saga - okay, where's part three, you showoff? :) I think part one smokes part two, and I think it's because part one's simpler, but that's always been a bias of mine. I think part two was afterglow. Keep it though - honorably archive it. It ain't blue rondo a la turk to take five, but it's good.

part one...wishful thinking of water dripping...part two.......postal worker...gibs

drstawl,
Another twisted masterpiece. For some reason it doesn't have the warmth and emotion you captured in "Cat Brains". Maybe it's the lack of vocals.

PAPicker

for dobro (especially the tempo):
Pt 3 is in the same place where pt 2 was.
Sorry- no room for both... :(

This one sounds more resigned - you getting used to cold bucket baths in the morning and cleaning your dishes with sand, then?

I really like the way the different musical lines change their voices - that bit with the strings near the end is brilliant. I thought the couple of notes of low fuzz about .30 was going to turn into something, but it didn't. I like the way the voices come and go - it's like the way thoughts and feelings come and go in my mind. The harpsichord/glass part after about .30 is exquisite - I wish the thoughts and feelings in my mind would come and go like that more often. :) The whole thing ended mid-track, though, at 1.14 - there wasn't an ending, it just stopped. I missed the ending. You're good at endings.

I checked out your website again, thinking Part 4 might be there. What's happened? You finally got hot water? You're writing Part 4?

Drstawl lost his water
You might someday too
He did what all youse oughtta
He wrote a tune for you

"Lost his water" can be read another way...

Yeah, I got my hot water back. When the fourth repair team showed up at my home, there actually was a plumber among them.
He busted up laughing at the inept work of his predecessors, wondering aloud how they stay employed at what they're doing. Thirty minutes later, everything back to normal.
So there'll probably be no part 4... :(

But what you said about ideas coming and going struck a chord with me. I "have" an almost bottomless supply of these little ideas, but I can only access them a few at a time. I try to get them recorded before they recede into oblivion. I <have> tried chasing them down, with little success. Not very efficient compared with just letting the new ones flow.
