Composing
No seriously....no thought was put into this at the start.
The guitars were right from the amp with PZM, loud and no thought for levels, sacrilege i know, it was total abuse. I was more interested in capturing some thing worthy of a lead break from my friend Mick who doesnt have much rythm......in fact he froze when it came to record.
Anyway....as a songwriter/composer.....I could hear it in my mind, then it all came together and I finished the lyrics.(I write the lyrics while out on my pushbike)
You could say we spent about 10 hours putting it together (over 3 weeks). Next time I will take more care.
You have to do this kind of thing to actually compose the song and take inspiration, you have to go with instinct, first idea best idea etc then it all composes itself. (before you lose the spirit) Fortunately as just a 'demo' it had enough to be a mix. This is home recording at its best. The actual composition is the art.
A professional, would redo everything all again in controlled conditions. I've never done that. Usually because I've had enough after the 'demo' and I'm onto something else. I know this is a good 'taster of a song' I've written 50+ of equal quality and in the same conditions, in my living room.
I just wanted to let you know how I as a composer operates lol
