I am considering purchasing the roland xv-3080. i currently own the roland sc-880 sound module. can anyone comment on the SOUNDS (both performance and patch) that the 3080 is capable of producing. i play the guitar and bass so i'm not as concerned about those sounds.

specifically:

do the piano, string, brass, and woodwinds sound realistic?

do the synths sound full?

are there excellent clav and electric piano sounds? especially, the electric piano, because the clav sound on my asr-x is pretty good anyway.

for $1295 it's gotta 'make me wanna holla, throw up both my hands'.

i got the xv-3080

it took me a few minutes to figure out how to make the proper bank and patch selections in cakewalk, but now i'm cooking with gas.

i was going to buy it over the 'net, but instead talked chuck levins into matching the internet price... there's a guy there named spitz who was cool to deal with.

i spent about an hour just going over all the sound i could hear by pressing the demo button for each patch, and it was so thick. i tried it throught the headphone jack too, just to be sure that they weren't doing something to the sound at the mixer to make it more beefy.
