Can anyone comment on the differences between the Studio Projects C1 and B3?

Smart university professor rekindles fire

Oh crap, you just had to toss another log on the fire didn't you. :( I'm going to bed... good night everyone.

this thread is worse than a soap opera.........the guy was just looking for a mic suggestion. maybe some of you guys should start a "bitchin n winin" thread. seriously, look at how much energy and thought was wasted here. too bad it did'nt go into helping someone finding the right mic.

Hi Travis. So you know how I don't know you at all? Well in the same way, you don't know any of us, so let me be the first to invite you down off your high horse (use that handy soap box if you need a step) and ask you politely to chill out.

If you don't want to get involved, don't.

As for the mics - we sorted that out on like page 1. Everything since then has just been the post-mortem. :)

Please don't make me examine myself, Travis. For once in my life, somebody's paying attention to me. I don't need perspective. I wouldn't know what to do with it. Just go away.

As soon as I'm done with exams, I'm going to record all day and all night with my Studio Projects T-3 microphone (best in class). I hope to write a review of it soon (just so newbies know that it's super sweet). God bless, Nik.

As a university professor who regularly tries to pass along the art of instrumental performance and improvisation that I learned at the feet of those older and more experienced than myself...
Give it up Chris - you are used to dealing with intelligent, civilized homo sapiens. Those tactics don't work around here, where we are mainly a bunch of rhesus macaques trying to figure out how to fuck a bowling ball.

Temporarily entertaining at times in a very simple way, but of no significant usefullness.

You're good, man. You put in a lot of effort to nailing those details. You have to admit that I whipped you all over with the DJL/Chessrock/Sonusman gags, though. :)

it has turned into a place where immature behavior ...butt-kissing... and cliquishness has drowned out all but a few reasonable voices.

Right on the mark. I have a similar opinion but with a different frame of reference.

I taught at an elementary school as my day job in the '80s. I often had playground duty during recess/lunchtime. The immaturity and waste of bandwidth common on the BBS here is a lot like certain types of children's playground behavior.

Nothing wrong with goofing off for a little fun, but it's different when a person doesn't use reasonable judgment about when to stop or who to aim their goofs toward.

Roll theme song, fade to commercial...

*rolls eyes, shakes head, goes to take a leak*

to the original guy who asked, I can't say anything about the C, but the mxl v67 was also mentioned. I have that and the B3. I find the B3 brighter and I like it for acoustic guitar, sometimes, but I also think it's a real good idea to have the pattern options.

Also, I have a learning/auditioning time w/ a new mic (if you have more than one source to be recording) and I find that I never dislike any mic I get, I just find good and better uses for each one.

Ok, I might be starting to dislike my mxl990's x/y'd for my acoustic, but not enough to render the tracks unlistenable, just an experiment I'll keep....

(btw, I just found the AT Pro 24 x/y mic and started a thread to ask if anyone thought it was good enough for us.)

oops, did I stray too far off the topic? :)
