Can a hot studio affect the performance of a mike?

It's been 85 + degrees in our unairconditioned house, and I was wondering if heat can change the way a microphone (particularly a C1 and MXL603S) receives and relays a signal?

Yes, heat can affect the diaphragm and etc.

seems to me like it would matter more if it was a dry heat or a humid heat. A dry heat may actually improve the sound of the mics by drying out the capsules (sort of like how the heat from the tube in some tube mics can dry out the capsule). If it's really humid though....I would put the mics away in a box or something with some silica gell. Just my two cents...

Not only mics, but your electronics won't like hot temperatures too much... heat shortens the lifespan of electronic components.
