Hello fellow recorders,

There is a feature in CAKEWALK on the console view called snapshot where there is a little icon with a camera on it.

I have somehow accidentally hit the snapshot button and cannot
undo it....does anyone know how?

i think it changed between cakewalk 8 and 9. i'm using sonar2 now, but i think i still remember:

in cw8 & 9, you would need to go into the event view for each midi or audio track and remove the controller events which have been placed into each track by the snapshot feature.

then in cw9 i think there is also an audio event track for the aux effects and main outs. go into the event view for this track also, and you will see controller events related to the mains.

I remember this one.

Go back to the tracks pane, rewind to the beginning of the song and set the volume and pan values numerically there.

The console is full of bugs in PA9. Sonar is great though. Really solid.

thanks guys for your input..

so...you'd recommend upgrading to sonor janic?

Well, yeah, why not?
I used to used Pro Audio 9 all day every day for a long time and I only moved to Sonar this summer. At first I didn't like it cos I was trying to do basically the same things in it with PA and in the same way.
It is a very different show now. The slip editing feature and how you can copy snips of audio and just resize them is frankly amazing. Your audio track view is right there in the clips pane, you just zoom in. You can then draw in the most minute of fade ins and outs and make absolutely perfect loops or clips. For vocals and guitar it's a godsend. I haven't used Sound Forge for months now.
The console has been rock solid for me too.
I bought the XL version. Very good compressor and EQ which can be automated - I was astounded.
There are a few other features like soft synths, but I haven't touched them. All my gear is outboard.
Yeah. Sonar is brilliant. I hope you can give it a look.
