sucks bro...send em back to the other place and buy em at 8thstreet hahaha

Will 8th Street pricematch the $109 + free shipping? They give a number to contact regarding lower prices...anyone gotten them to pricematch on items before?

One of these days when I'm home at my folks' I'm going to visit the CAD factory.

Jump on it before it's too late.

Have you dealt with these folks before?

No, but I ordered one from them anyway. At that price, the risk isn't too great.Trying to get 8th St. to price match is not a bad idea, however.

CAD is BAD....yo mthr talkin

look forward to reading (or hearing) your reviews.

the CAD stuff just seems well built, heavy metal, solid cases,
detailed builds-no flaws...good solid workmanship.

or at least the pre-China days stuff....was
hopefully they will maintain their Above average Quality
as they compete with everyone else following the trend
of Cheaper,Cheaper, Cheaper.....

I had an old E-100 very solid, heavy, good phone support.

came inches form buying the M-9 recently.

great price you got.

Thanks for the link, Don, and the suggestion, Adam P. I'd already ordered 2 from 8thstreet before you posted it. I emailed to see if they'd match the price, and they did. Plus the free shipping, even though it came in at $219.98, one cent under their free shipping minimum. :)

8thstreet has always given me great service.

Fyi

boyntonproaudio has an 100% rating on ebay with 1039 sales. Not too shabby!

For $129, anyone looking for a good and versatile LDC would be kind of silly not to jump on that.

I continue to use one on a ton of different things, and it's always a performer and a professional tool. Oddly enough, my favorite feature on it is the continuously variable polar-pattern, which I believe our own Mr. Gerst had a hand in developing.

Awesome deal. Did you get any indication as to whether these prices are going to remain for a while or if they're just blowing them out for some reason? Reason I'm asking is because the M179 is at the top of my list of mics to buy (I really want that continuously variable pattern, and I can't swing the cost of a C-414), but I just bought a Beyer mic, and I'm also looking to be finishing up a deal soon that will land me a 24 channel Allen & Heath console and a HD24XR for a great price, and my wife is already not to crazy about me spending that much money. I can't wait to explaing cabling costs to her... :) Anyways, if they're going to stay at this price, I'll just hold out. Otherwise, I may have to beg and plead a friend to buy one for me until I can afford to pay him back. Any thoughts or info regarding this?

Just want to note that I've god CADs from both pre and post-china, and I love all of them. My latest purchase was 2 M179s from an unknown dealer on Ebay about a year ago and they were very consistetn with a stereo matched pair of two other M179s that I had previously. Great stuff...

Also, I have a feeling they're blowing them out because CAD wants to replace it with their GXL3000 at a similar price point. Honestly, it doesn't look nearly as good to me, and the self-noise seems very high...especially compared to the church mouse-like M179.

Of course, if it sounds good, who cares? :)

Oh boy.... just a couple more months before I get to try out my m179 pair (got em at the beginning of the year) on drums and do some full blown recording projects. So excited.

Sorry, I don't have a clue. My guess is they're getting rid of them, though that's not to say the price won't go even lower before all's said and done. Sometimes I guess right (like the Oktava MK 012's and 319's at $50 per), and sometimes wrong (I've repressed those memories :))

Oh God!!! ...If I buy another mic, my wife will use it to replace the bulge in my pants after she finds out!!

Maybe I better buy two or three, just to make it worth it.

I just ordered one from Boyntonproaudio.com also. I'll let you all how my experience with them goes. Thanx for the info Dr. Grace..........I hope anyway.
