Hi guys

I'm moving up in the world I guess:p
Got me spankin new Mackie MDR recorder and a used 24/8 on the way. You know the catch....gotta hook em up!

I gotta come up with (6) snakes....all dSub 24 pin connectors to eight 1/4" TRS connectors. The HOSA models at my local music store seem quite cheaply made and I know most of us steer clear of HOSA where it matters. I found a catalog that has PRO CO but I have no Idea if it's any better....IS it?!

Does anyone know of something better? I can't find what I need in Belden or Mogami listed anywhere and I would make my own but I'm not sure how to go about building the 25 pin end:confused:

Thanks in advance....

The Pro Co are well made. I have a bunch of D-subs I use with DA38's. Making them is no big deal if your good with at soldering and have a steady hand. Be sure to use a good clamping system to keep the whole thing stable if you build your own. I made some of mine using mogami cable. DB25 connectors are very common. Radio Shack should have them. Try to find the metal hoods instead of plastic.

The connectors will have 2 numbered rows. 1-13 and 14-25 so it is easy to follow. The Tascam pinout is channel 8, pin 1 hot, 14 cold, 2 ground and in patterns like triangles that swap up and down. The next channel is 15 hot, 3 cold, 16 ground. The pin out should be in the mackie manual but if not you can get the D-sub pinout from the Tascam website.

Good luck
