Hi,

I have noticed some humming when cables are hanging/positioned in certain ways. I know there are lots technical reasons behind, but I would just like some guidelines to prevent it from occuring again.
Last time it happened was when I had my headphone cable too close to the cables between my mic pre and mixer. Anything I should not be doing?

Thank you

AL

When your playing guitar & tracking, switch off the monitor...

that only really applies to electric guits.

Cheers

Thanks for the tip, but, I was micing an acoustic guitar, so, I don't think the PC monitor has an effect on the humming, right?

Also, keep signal cables (like guitar cords, etc) away from those little wall wart plug in convertors. They're notorious for injecting hum into guitar cables.

ok, so stay away from computer monitor, and wall warts. How about mic and patch cables in general. I remember reading something about ground cables?? I am totally green to this...
oh, how about cables and the speakers? Do they affect each other?
Thanks
