BUY in the USA and SHIP to the UK

I bought some original Neve BA338 opamps from a guy in the US.

So, made in England, shipped to the states and then when they come back home I have to pay tax on them again.

Fucking crazy????? :confused:

Hey at least they sepnd the money wisely :rolleyes: (I'll stop now before this turns into a cave post).

Pretty absurd. On the other hand, Thomann charges a lot less for Chinese mics than the U.S. companies even if we import them one at a time from Europe and pay import duties on them, so it works both ways.

Some companies have minimum advertised price restrictions that prevent them from giving their best price online. Call your local dealers and tell them that you can buy it for N euros imported from the states including import duties and see if they can beat it. Odds are, they will just to get your business under the assumption that you might buy other stuff from them in the future.

Besides, if the U.S. dealers can sell it for that, so can the European dealers. Assuming the U.S. dealers pay the same wholesale as the European dealers, the European dealers should be able to undercut the U.S. dealers by a fair margin because they don't have to pay import duties.
