I'm looking for some general advice concerning this room, with regards to its shape and dimensions.
Any help, push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

The room will be used mainly for mixing, I'm concerned with good acoustics, but do not want a completely dead room either.
I'm not concerned at all with isolation. I will also be doing some vocal recordings here, but that's not a priority.

The room concerned is in the second floor of my house, I'm providing pictures here, sorry I wasn't able to go more wide angled for the photos.
If you need more details from me to be able to help out let me know.

I've put some specific questions I have below the images and room information.

The room is 4x4 meters.
As you can see from the first picture, the wall on the left are of a different height (1,20 meter) before the angled ceiling, than the wall on the right (2,15 meter)
The beams under the peak ceiling are at 2,10 meter from the floor. I'm thinking of keeping these.
The wall parallel to the one with the window looks the same, minus the window.
The ceiling is angled/peaked, and from the floor to the peak it's 3,06 meter.

Where I'm at in the construction phase: I've tore down all the old wood paneling, and I'm in the process of placing the bitumen boards, that's what you see on the ceiling. Behind those there's an air space of 3-5 cm. That's basically as far as I've gotten in the construction so far.
Next step is isolation/rockwool.

QUESTIONS:

- General advice here
- What should I put on the visible layer for walls and ceiling, my choices are basically wood panel, gypsum/drywall, mdf or a combination.
- I'm not that concerned yet with what traps I need and where to place them, but I'm thinking at least some broadband absorbers right below the peak in the ceiling? Flattening that out.
- With regards to the rooms dimensions and the two uneven walls in height, where would be the best place for the console and monitors? I know you usually aim monitors down the length of a room but this one is square, so.
- I know square rooms are usually bad, but is the peaked ceiling, and all that, helping me out a little at least, or making it even worse?

My general concern is that the room is too small, and square, 4x4. At least it's not a cube, because of the peaked ceiling.
I'm also a bit concerned with stereo imaging because if I place my desk by the window there, there won't be an equal length from each speaker, side wall/ceiling. Hard to get a symmetrical placement.

Thanks for any help, let me know if you need more information.

Not much response... that's ok.

I've decied to go with wood panelling, looks nice and though it's not as dead as drywall, acoustically, it should let through some sound that will be absorbed by the mass of insulation I've got behind them. And a couple of air spaces.
I'm counting on my trapping for an acoustically pleasing environment anyway, that'll be the main factor.

I'm now done with the framework and insulated half the room, once the rest of the room is insulated I'll start panelling, then lay the floor, and then it's time for trap building.
