Brand new out of the box -NO POWER?

Didn't know how much "traffic" I'd get in the Alesis forum. So, I'm coming here for any suggestions. Just hooked up my new Alesis HD-24, and I get no power at all.
TROUBLESHOOTING: I have plugged it into several outlets (yes, i'm sure the outlets work with other equip).
What are the odds this brand new machine has a bum power supply??

I would open it up and check to see if the fuse might be blown. If that aint it...send it back
