The Effects button doesn't turn off on guitar input? What if I just want the natural sound of my PRS. Is my unit malfunctioning?

I assume you are pressing the effects button which brings up the menu, and then you are selecting the "off" position within the menu? That should do the trick.

If you are already going to the menu to by-pass the effects patch, then I don't know what to tell you.... maybe a large hammer? <g>

No, I mean the light doesn't go out on the effects button, and even tho the menu isn't up, the effects are still on. When i press the effects button i then get the menu....Again, I just want the guitar straight in, no processing.
Thx for replying

Okay, maybe this will help...

1) Press the Effects button... the menu will come up.

2) On the BR-8 surface there is a Cursor... looks sorta like this:

/\
< > (not a great representation, but you get the idea)
\/

3) Press the Right button of the Cursor... that will highlight the
"By-Pass" in the menu which should be displaying it as "OFF"

4) Now, turn the Time/Value Wheel one notch clockwise...
the Effects Button should go out and the "By-Pass" will read as
"ON".

5) Press the "Effects Button" again... the light should now be off.

If that doesn't give you a clean recorded sound, there is one more thing you can do.

1) Press the "Utility Button".

2) Using the Cursor, scroll over to the "effects icon" (it looks like a
"stomp box")

3) Press the "Enter Button".

4) Turn the "Time/Value" Wheel until it reads "Input (Record Dry)"

5) Now, press the "Utility Button" again.... the effects light will
still be lit, and you will hear the selected effect, but it won't be
recorded.

Whew!... hope that helps.
