BPM determination

Hello,

This may seem like an elementary question to seasoned veterans of Cakewalk products....

I am using Sonar 5 Producer and I have 2 MIDI files I wish to incorporate into my next project. I have a problem...how can I determine the appropriat BPM of each MIDI file? I need to know what the BPM is so I can play guitar at the appropriate measure/beat.

BPM = Tempo.

Just open the file, look at the tempo... that's the BPM...

Or if you want to work it out, count how many quater notes there are in a minute

Also, since they are MIDI files, you can play them at whatever BPM (tempo) you want without affecting the sound.
