Hey guys, ive got a preatty easy question.

In cubase, the bounce feature makes one file out of two events in the same track (from what I can gather by trying it)

I was wondering if there is a way to combine two actual track into one. What ive benn doing in all my time using cubase is either creating a group track, or making a mixdown export with only those two tracks soloed. Still I wish there was a way to just kinda mesh two events in one track without one going on top of the other, more like mixing them, like bouncing in analog where you just group different instruments into one track to make room for other.

My purpose for this is just not having so many tracks in cubase cause too many track drive me a little crazy, also I feel that its a great way to psychologically commit to asound instead of having a bazillion plugins on each track and never being all the way 'finished' with a mix becase there is always one knob left to turn. (which is what I do now)

Thanks for any help, Ive been using cubase for a long time but for some reason Ive never known how to do this.

I'm not so sure you want to pre-mix two tracks before you are ready to 'final mix' the project.

Using a group track is probably the best method if you want to save plug-ins; that also allows you to hide the primary tracks while using the group fader to
mix.

For instance, you can sub group all the toms to one channel, and all the cymbals to one channel and then apply effects to the respective sub group.
To futher that process, you can gather all the sub-groups to one fader for
drums.

I'd strongly recommend against sub mixing tracks, and just use the hide feature, or group channels if your eyes are getting overloaded.
