Hey everybody, just signed up. Hope I can find somebody who'll help me out.
So I just bought the Yamaha MG10XU mixer. I'm using it to power and EQ my AT2020 condenser microphone, and handle my sound system and headphones for output.
The mixer is also a USB audio interface, allowing for my computer playback to be played through the mixer, and my microphone input to be read as a recording device.
So the mixer works great. I'm very happy with everything it has to offer. There's just one issue.
I'm a gamer. Using this mixer to handle my audio and my microphone input is essential.
But when I play games, something odd happens. The audio gradually begins cutting in and out. Like a half-second audible pause.
The gameplay is not interrupted, it's just the audio.
When I plug my headphones directly into my onboard sound card, it works perfectly fine.
Before the MG10XU, I used a Steinberg CI-1 USB audio interface. It worked perfectly fine as well.
Another thing I'd like to note that may be interesting to consider. The audio cuts aren't simply half-second mutes.
The sounds in-game literally pause during the cut, and continue after the break.
For example, in Battlefield 1 when the announcer says "Edward". If it pauses, they would say "Ed"----"ward".
It's almost as if the playback device is causing the game itself to break. I'm not sure what this could be.
I've done a lot of googling, and I honestly haven't seen anybody report a situation like this.
Does anybody have an idea on what I can do to solve this situation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
