ive just purchased a boss rcl-10 (compressor/limiter) half-rack unit. my initial teething problem is that with all dials set to +0 -0 there is a horrible buzz which drowns out my instruments. the leads arent faulty and the boost button is set to off - even when i bypass the effects completely the buzz remains.

i say this is a general buzz post because i have read elsewhere that the power supply used makes a huge difference in terms of background noise. has anyone had any first-hand experience of this and can anyone therefore suggest anything?

the unit, as with all boss units, recommends its own brand psa power unit (i currently use a couple of variable voltage cheap supplies) but are they really worth investing in?

thanks in advance.

Old post (number 2), but nobody answered, so:
Yes, they are worth it. I have found only two supplies that work with my RCL-10 without humming; the original Boss one, and this one.
