Boss Br800 backward compatibility

Hi,
I have had many years pleasure with the boss micro BR and am now considering buying a BR800 but am curious to know if the songs i recorded on the BR will be recognized on the BR800 and if so, can i make full use of the BR800 functionality (eg to add extra tracks)

I would think you need to export from the MicroBR to WAV, then import those files to the BR800.
