Lucky to have the beautiful blond sing another tune. We had fun with this. Some people go to dinner and a movie, we record.

Very nice song. Lovely voice. I do think it's competing with the guitar and mando a tiny bit more than necessary sometimes.
And, apologies in advance, but the bass detracts from the overall feel. Is it a guitar dropped, or what? Only have my headphones here at work, but tone quality seems wrong, and the playing is the weakest part of the "band."
Keep the singer, though.
Excellent playing and recording. I find there's a bit of a disconnect reverb wise between the instruments and the vocals. It sounds great but I wonder if you pulled the vocals up front more it would sit more in the same space...
Moot point when it's this good though![]()
Thanks for the listen and great advice. I don't really hear an electric bass on this. That would certainly help with the sustain. Or an arco bass part maybe. Not sure. All great production thoughts tho. ThanksElton - nice track. Don't know if this will be helpful, but I am picking up on the bass thing that stll_fiddling did... I was trying to thing of how I would be playing this part and here are some thoughts - not really a bass player so take it with a grain of salt...
It's really on the beat and doesn't move around it at all, the individual notes seem to end to abruptly, I would be rocking back and forth between strings and probably slide between the notes sometimes, in general 'walk' a bit more - and there is one note in particular that bugs me - I'll see if I can figure it out, but in general I kept thinking it should drop down - it just sounds kind of 'odd' like that one note in particular is clashing with some other instrument.
Anyway - I think the tune is cool - but do agree that the bass detracts...
