My first post here -
recording tenor male vocals in a country rock band with newly purchased Bluebird Blue condenser.
The response is good, even, and it tracks well... but the sound is a bit flat compared to a couple of other mics we use. I dont quite know how to explain it, its as if its lacking upper mids or something.
I'd like to keep using the Bluebird on our singer, as he's untrained and when we use other mics, his Ks and Ts and Ps pop really bad, even with pop screening; but not on the Bluebird.
If anyone is using this mic, do you have any EQ tips how to make this mic sound more... "alive" for lack of a better term? I thought about boosting some upper mids but I'm always leary of boosting, I'd rather cut,... but I havent found any EQ cut to make this thing "sing".
Any help would be appreciated.
