Even INSIDE a club, it's bad. If you wanna listen to hip hop in the club, that's fine, that's where it came from but club hip hop should be HIP HOP - not techno that's considered rap since the vocalist is black.

What I consider a club banger is a joint like Big Pimpin', Lean Back, Dirt off Ya Shoulder, Roll Out, Move B*tch. NOT a piece of steaming shit like Laffy Taffy.

yeah..that club music for up north..not down south..

even tho you will hear it in the south at the clubs..its the "Laffy Taffy's" of the world that packes the dancefloors in the clubs in the school..
ever region has its own style of hip hop that packs the floors...and it you want it to be hot in the club you need to be already known or have a simple hot knockin track that get people up out of the seats and off the wall and on the floor..period

the south love to dance...

a rule of thumb..(if your old enough)..if you can get into a strip club..pay attention to what makes the dancers..dance harder..when the dj spins the records...try your new hit in the club to see what kind of response you will get from the dancing..then you will know if you have a hit...lol...JD(soso def) does this alot ..lol

What up FAM. Been a minute. Been on the grind once again.

Anyway. As asked, I'm from the Frisco Bay Area...

These talks with major labels take a long time, so I've still been making our own moves. Studio recording, live mobile recording, selling beats and getting on big releases at least and investing.

its nice to see you on your grind..keep doin it big..so you still moving the the ATL...?

Naw man, crunk is not hip hop in any shape or form 'cause the rap element of hip hop culture requires just that, RAP.

REAL hip hop club bangers from the South are by cats like Mannie Fresh and the like - that's where it's at. I also like joints like Nolia Clap and that H-Town shit.

Big Pimpin' and Move Bitch were with Southern cats though.

dude, crunk is a part of hip-hop rather you like it or not..its has made its mark in the history of Hip-hop..period

The real Hip-Hop south club bangers and not heard, in the Mainstream.. example..Mannie Fresh earlier production yes..Juvie's earlier songs yes..before CMR got their deal..now everything they do is Commerical, Devin the Dude still underground and still drops classic(not to many knows of him)..yes it still pack the floor..and yes JZ used UGK to make a hot Crossover hit to get fans in the South (and yes this is true..his sells went good in the South before that song...im just made they didnt get to do part 2)

and i for you being a up and coming producer you shouldnt really hate or limit yourself to what kind on music you will do..this will cut out alot of business for you...you will alway have a artist that wants a crunk song to push in the clubs..enven if it isnt Lil Jon that of crunk..they will want it poppin to pack the clubs..(listen to MIMS) ..

now if you an artist that a different thing you can hate all you want..lol

music is music and someone will always like and dislike your music..you can please everyone..

lol,

crunk is the essence of hip hop, how do you think rap music and hip hop started off, it was dance music with simple lyrics, your prolly too young to remember but hip hop usto be juss about dancing and having fun, and partying, not super lyrical message drivin shit, now their both forms of the music, but you cant knock crunk n say it isnt hip hop, when infact its very hip hop

n this aint biasied cause i aint even from tha south, i never even been to tha south, matter of fact ive never even bought a lil jon/crunk cd, but they music is the essence of what hip hop was all about, so imma defend em n throw in a hip hop lesson for the unknowing

Hip hop started from party music, I acknowledged that above, as you can see here:
If you wanna listen to hip hop in the club, that's fine, that's where it came from but club hip hop should be HIP HOP - not techno that's considered rap since the vocalist is black.

^^^"that's where it came from"^^^

Dance music is fine but crunk does not, in any way, fall into that category as far as hip hop goes. It IS techno, just with black artists instead of ecstasy addled European men.

It doesn't matter what a rapper wants - my beats are MINE and thus are in my style [boom-bap with my signature sound laid on]. I would not insult my art form [hip hop] by making garbage like crunk that would tarnish its name.

Scarface is hip hop, as is Ludacris, Timbaland, Pharrell, OutKast, and so on - but D4L and the like are NOT. It is not a North vs South thing, it's about specific artists and the garbage they promote.

that statement will kill a career before it even begins...

if you dont cater your tracks to the Artist needs you are not producing..your just supplyin a track so your just a beatmaker...lookin for a quick dollar..

no one it was a North vs South things..that topic will never be agreed apon..eveyone can have their own opinon and that life..but to say crunk is not part of the Hip-Hop movement is dead wrong my friend (and for the record D4L is snap music not Crunk dont confuse the two)

if this is the way you feel..then you will find limit placement for your tracks..and this is the true (unless they decide to go back to the hip-hop beginning era..which i dout it)..labels are lookin for tracks that will sell once thier garbage artist get on their to sell 2 million ringtones..cause with ever 100 people that dont like it 10000 do..its a number game..and alsway will be..

the new sampling laws have hurt real Hip-Hop (to much money to pay out to use samples) so you must adapt and move on to make something new..Crunk has always been in the south before it was popular..its nothing new to us (southerners) ..

matter of fact..why do you think GoGo never jump off like it should have when EU had "Doin the Butt" everywhere...(back in the days :D ) people wasnt use to hearing a live band playin music while someone rappin..this is why it still an underground act in the MD/DC/VA area (the Roots did there thing..now they pretty much indie underground..and i love the Roots)..

right now the next wave to get popppin in the airways with be Baltimore House..it is being played alot in NY, PA and the Chi (as well as its own house music)..

ok im done..just dont want you to think you can just force your music on a artist or label and think they will just go with it...they are lookin for what is sellin and what hot now..

I feel you - but I think there's starting to be a trend going back to the roots of hip hop, as evidenced by Lupe's success [the fact that that happened made me very happy]. Also, judging by the way people just loved Christina Aguilera's Premo-helmed boom-bap album, it seems that the public ear is slowly changing.

I don't mind not selling much do to an unpopular style as I'll provide for myself through other means. I have a whole movement together, comprised of three MCs [including myself], one soul singer, and one producer [myself] - that, by the age of sixteen. I plan on expanding the roster as well, I think "Scholar's Ink" is gonna go places.

no doubt...

i really didnt think those CDs were really successful ..think they did well...cause a lot of people still dont know who Lupe is..and C.A. CD was nice...had its run like normal albums..but thats it...

you have a lot of time..and you and your team can only get better...
but you still must adapt to whats sellin or a variation of whats sellin to make a bubble to be notice in this industry...

and dont worry you gto my support..cause hell i like everthing...

cause they made it and i want to see people with talen to make it to..

**trust my when I heard the "Laffy Taffy" mess i almost crashed..lol (My daughters were laughtin at me..cause i was mad when i heard that mess)..but they had a fan base..and proved to the labels they could sell..in which they did..i think the went Gold.. but the grind hard to get the deal..and that what it takes..

K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid) is right now true..and has always been true...have a nice track and a catch hook..and you have a Hit..and people knockin at your door (ie..Make It Rain...now Clear it Out..cats form Harlem)..

just continue to make your music..but you need to shine to make it ...regional or national

That's one of the benefits we have with "Scholar's Ink" - my homegirl got an amazing voice so we can do crossover type joints like Nas' "If I Ruled the World" with the one and only Lauryn Hill. We're targeting a Rawkus Records type market - I'm not expecting us to ever "blow up" per se but, as long as we're respected by the legends [provided they hear our work], I'm happy.
