It doesn't matter what a rapper wants - my beats are MINE and thus are in my style [boom-bap with my signature sound laid on]. I would not insult my art form [hip hop] by making garbage like crunk that would tarnish its name.
Scarface is hip hop, as is Ludacris, Timbaland, Pharrell, OutKast, and so on - but D4L and the like are NOT. It is not a North vs South thing, it's about specific artists and the garbage they promote.
that statement will kill a career before it even begins...
if you dont cater your tracks to the Artist needs you are not producing..your just supplyin a track so your just a beatmaker...lookin for a quick dollar..
no one it was a North vs South things..that topic will never be agreed apon..eveyone can have their own opinon and that life..but to say crunk is not part of the Hip-Hop movement is dead wrong my friend (and for the record D4L is snap music not Crunk dont confuse the two)
if this is the way you feel..then you will find limit placement for your tracks..and this is the true (unless they decide to go back to the hip-hop beginning era..which i dout it)..labels are lookin for tracks that will sell once thier garbage artist get on their to sell 2 million ringtones..cause with ever 100 people that dont like it 10000 do..its a number game..and alsway will be..
the new sampling laws have hurt real Hip-Hop (to much money to pay out to use samples) so you must adapt and move on to make something new..Crunk has always been in the south before it was popular..its nothing new to us (southerners) ..
matter of fact..why do you think GoGo never jump off like it should have when EU had "Doin the Butt" everywhere...(back in the days

) people wasnt use to hearing a live band playin music while someone rappin..this is why it still an underground act in the MD/DC/VA area (the Roots did there thing..now they pretty much indie underground..and i love the Roots)..
right now the next wave to get popppin in the airways with be Baltimore House..it is being played alot in NY, PA and the Chi (as well as its own house music)..
ok im done..just dont want you to think you can just force your music on a artist or label and think they will just go with it...they are lookin for what is sellin and what hot now..
