Hi,

I have recently borrowed an cheap encore bass from a friend and am miking it up through - fender blues deluxe re-issue - SM57 - focusrite saffire 6 - FL Studio. I'm not getting a great sound out of it at the moment and so I am wondering what you guys think of Trilian for bass sounds?

The music I'm playing is grunge / alternative stuff.

I can get great guitar sounds both clean and distorted with my setup as stated before.

I'm wondering if any of you use Trilian and whether you think it is good enough to have as the bass when the mixdown is finally finished.

Can it be a top end product with a sound that matches a real live bass?

All thoughts would be welcome, cheers, Ste.

I've used it, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the bass, it has a round robin effect which make in more human, and it automatically puts in slides and hammer on's when needed. If you use it right its a great vsti.

Can you tell me how you managed to trigger the slides and hammer-ons?

That would make it a lot more human I guess, and interesting too.

Love the banana-man photo, we need to bring him back! Along with count duckula.

When I was a kid, there was a hilarious Batman spoof in the funniest comic I ever read, Krazy, called Birdman and Chicken. Them and their foes {like Sourpuss instead of Catwoman} were so stupid that they were funny.
Sorry for the off topic sidetrack, I had Trilian's predocessor, Trilogy, and I was most unimpressed so I didn't feel I could contribute anything worthy to the thread.

Have just tried DI'ing my bass and the sound is really decent. Maybe I could mix in with Trilian, will have to see. Just got to learn how to play the line for this song. Think I should have it around 3am GMT. Maybe. Gonna get cracking now.
