Hello all,

I am trying to figure out the best way to connect my keyboard (Korg M50) to my computer for live recording. Does anyone know of any good software that would easily allow me to do this? i just want to be able to record my music easily. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful..

Thanks

Big Joe

Best way or cheep acceptable way? Buy a behringer UCA202 USB interface, some RCA to 1/4 inch cables, and load up the software program reaper. The interface and cables should be able to be had for less than $50.

What's your budget? You can do a lot better than Behringer without trying, but it will cost a little more.

no budget constraints. I just want to be able to record my keyboard live, so any advice on connection types and software would be very helpful.

well Id look at something that handled midi as well as audio.....

plenty out there..really you have to set a budget as they'll go from this

Product: US-144 | TASCAM

to this

Buy Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 Audio interface | Audio Interfaces | Musician's Friend

Most come with software included (I think the two mentioned come with cubase LE and ableton Live Lite) and if its just some keyboard tracks these will probably be enough to get started on..they are cut down versions so you can upgrade when and if required and you'll have already learned the basics..

Best specs for a 2 channel interface: Mackie BlackJack $199
midi to usb cable $40
Reaper software free on internet.

Software does not effect the quality..........the interface does.
If you know your way around a mixer board you can learn any software.

Any DAW should be acceptable, and of course a decent interface ...
