Thanks for all the input guys. I know ill outgrow my little 2x at some point but my goal right now is to just get a lot of mic time in and play with some of the stripped down daws to see what feels best. Just went through an ugly divorce so coin is at a premium. And my real focus at this point is voice work. Now trying to hone in on mics and to decide what else to add to the chain .thanks again

Good idea! So many people come here and post and post and handwring about this AI or the other and DAW choice when it really does not matter, unless you have some specific recording requirement, one £100 ish AI is as good as any other. So just get stuck in!

As for recording software? Do check out MAGIX Samplitude Pro Silver. Eight tracks max but you might get on well with the system.

Dave.

avid fast track duo or solo comes with protools express or a focus right scarlet or safire pro depending on your budget you would want to start with a minimum of 1/2 mic/line inputs line= jackif you want you could go presonus or Tascam as well interms of saying " there is no perfet entry level interface" well there is it is what you think of your interface and how it suits you everyone is different and so is there recording set up just my 2cents hope this helps Cubase with a lexicon alpha may be an option but there is no loops and minimal effects and plug ins with cubase

Spelling, punctuation and sentence breaks would make your posts so much easier to understand!

Holy cow! This guy's from an English speaking country? Well...Aussie is close to English. :)

Dave is right, at the $100-200 they are all pretty good for the price.
