How You Can Quit Your Job Within Six Months and Make More Money Playing Music (And Living Your Dream) Than You Are Now...

Thats a pretty bold statement has anyone ever tried these guys out?

http://www.kathoderaymusic.com/indiebiz/special-nh.html

sounds a little too good to be true

I did a long time ago and it didn’t work out. I was looking for specific advice that at that time was not available. It was a pretty big crash and burn as you can read about in the archives. But I did receive a couple of great CD’s not long ago ,NC that were loaded with great information. For people starting out it’s a very fast way to get the basics down and come up with a direction. The biggest problem with everything in this industry is it takes time…..allot of time….full time. When bands are in the studio they are surrounded by the rest of the members , studio folk, producers, engineers, family and friends. Everyone is blowing hot air up everyone’s ass ……problem is this comes to a grinding halt when the recording is finished and you trudge off with your masters to get yourself 1000 shiny beer coasters. Now the work begins and yes you have to do it….I know its easier to complain about how everything sucks and no body truly knows anything about real talent but the people who do this full time for a living generally do not have time to waste on people who are not serious and serious people devote allot of time and money to getting to other levels. So …..should you buy books and join organizations that might further your career and possible save you some time in the process. Yes……check them out ….see about refund policies then go nuts. But stay away from V-M-G ( without dashes. Sorry it’s a dirty word on here….V-M-Gscams.com will fill you in )

This is a different service than when PAShop was a member. We do at least six live coaching calls per month, so if you want specifics, you'll get them.

Also have live events like www.2nmc.com, which you'll attend at no charge.

I did it as an engineer. Quit in April of 96 and by October was on tour making 2.5 times what my job paid.

hey david hooper - i just checked out your website and i have a question. you offer a money back guarantee, and i assume that it is valid only if the client actually does all that you advise and takes advantage of all that you offer.

ok, i have no problem with that, but what about these "in person meetings?" where are they and with whom are they? what if they are across the country and impossible to fulfill?

is that the catch that makes the odds of a refund very slim? do you schedule a meeteng when and where you please, and then put the burden of making it upon the artist? do i have to go to ny or nashville or something like that?

let's hear it

You are correct.

This is like a gym. I provide you with the tools (and advice on how to use them), but it's ultimately up to you if you want to lose weight.

As far as the in person stuff, www.2nmc.com has a great example of what we do in person and will give you dates of the next event. Other meetings are at the major music conferences including SXSW, NeMO, NXNE, etc.

Most of the stuff is done via phone. If you're thinking about giving us a test run, now is a great time because we have four coaching calls coming up next week, four the week after that, as well as about ten conference calls within that time.

The stuff we go over at 2NMC is pretty advanced, so we're doing a lot of extra work right now to make sure people are up to speed and able to take advantage of everything it is that we offer at a live event.

did he answer my question?
david hooper, i donot know you nor do i wish to judge you, but your reply sounded like something outta dubya's mouth (albiet more intelligently worded)

you say quit your job in six months, but require a commitment that sounds like quitting now... how is your client supposed to travel across the country to make this "in person" stuff... and if he doesn't, well that's how you can make your outrageous money back guarantee so confidently, because virtually nobody will be able to fulfill his end of following through with your service!

nice title to the thread - believe the hype?

hype hype hype. keep selling man, isn't that what it's really about?

You're not on house arrest are you? Any parole stuff that keeps you from leaving the State?

2NMC is only three days long. You hardly have to quit your job to attend.

As for most of the stuff, it's via phone or online. You can do it from the confort of your own home.

You don't have to attend anything in person, but the dedicated find a way. It's to your advantage to come, and it's included with the price of membership, so why not?

I'm sending out a free preview CD for those that want one. I don't have the link on me now as I'm working from home, but will be happy to send you an announcement if you get on the list.

nice.

ok dave - i'm being a devil's advocate here for the benefit of the masses on the other side of your gate.
i'm thinking a trip to the east coast is gonna cost a few to several hundred bucks when all is said and done. three days off work plus travel and lodging etc...
i suppose i can just put it on the card and pay it off when i start making that executive level income?

don't get me wrong - i am an optimistic person, i work hard, i don't stress too much over taking risks in which i see obvious potential benefit... just being devil's advocate.

so when you say "you don't have to attend anything in person," does that mean if your client isn't able to get the time off work, find a three day babysitter, pony up hundreds of dollars and make it to the conference, then he is still eligible for the money back guarantee?

that's all i'm asking at this point.

Again, the guarantee still applies. The in-person stuff like the seminar is just a bonus...but you do want to come if you can.

Check out this audio message I posted and give me a few bucks to send you the 2NMC Preview CD. Or, you can download it if you want...

It talks about making the power of a live event.

wow, i was expecting some kind of circumloquitous (sp?) response...

thanks for the straight answer.

was giles117 one of your clients?

Nope I was not one of his clients. I was pointing out that I... On my own within 6 months was on tour making 5k/month.

So it is possible to be able to quit your day job and be a fultime music business person. :)

Making a living at music is easier than a lot of people think, but it is hard work.

A lot of folks seem to think the music business involves sitting around the studio and recording all day. And others have a "starving artist" mentality where they don't really believe that anybody will pay for what they've got.

If you can get past those two things, you'll do fine.

I just got a new CD in the mail from Bob Baker that talks about this. You guys may know him from his book, Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook.

New CD is called What Every Musician Should Know About Self-Promotion: The 29 Key Principles of Independent Music Marketing and it's well worth the $11.95, so check it out...especially if you are dealing with starving artist issues.
